AI visibility

AI visibility describes how consistently and clearly a brand appears in AI-generated answers for a defined set of questions. It is not a search-impression metric: it depends on which questions, platforms, markets, and time window are measured.

In plain terms

A brand's visibility baseline starts with mention rate: the share of completed monitored answers in which the correct brand identity was detected.

The quality of a detected mention can also depend on its ranked position, sentiment, competitor context, and whether the brand's own domain appears among the answer's sources.

Results from one question or one run are a snapshot. Repeating the same saved questions creates a comparable trend, while still reflecting normal variation between AI responses.

Why it matters

Buyers increasingly act on the single answer an assistant gives, so absence from monitored answers can mean missed consideration even with strong traditional rankings.

Because it is measurable for a defined question set, AI visibility turns a vague worry into a baseline you can improve against.

How it relates to GetCited.me

GetCited.me creates one tracking run per saved question and selected platform, validates that a mention refers to the monitored brand rather than a similarly named entity, and aggregates the completed analyses into mention-rate, competitive, source, and AI Visibility Score views.

Frequently Asked Questions

GetCited.me measures a defined monitoring set rather than the whole internet: completed question-and-platform runs are analyzed for the correct brand identity, ranked mention position when present, sentiment, competitors, and normalized source URLs. Aggregate metrics always depend on the selected time window and filters.
Some technical fixes — opening crawler access, adding structured data — can affect eligibility fast, but durable gains come from citable content and third-party mentions, which typically take weeks to compound.
