See which of your pages AI assistants cite, without leaving WordPress

Pair your site once. WordPress reports every page it publishes, GetCited.me compares that against what our own crawler can reach from outside, and wp-admin shows what was measured — including the pages your site publishes that nothing outside it can read.

Download the pluginCreate a free account

The archive is hosted on getcited.me. The plugin is not listed in the WordPress plugin directory, and it needs a GetCited.me account — the free plan is enough for one site.

How it works

  1. Install the plugin

Upload the archive in Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, then activate it. Nothing leaves your server until you connect an account in the next step.

  2. Pair with a one-time code

In GetCited.me open Settings → Integrations and press Get connection code — tick Allow a different domain first if the WordPress site is a staging copy or lives on another domain. Paste the code into wp-admin within ten minutes. Before any credential is issued, the service fetches a verification value from your site, so pairing proves the site is yours rather than merely that someone typed its address.

  3. WordPress reports what it publishes

For every published page: the title, the heading outline, FAQ blocks, structured-data types, the first paragraph and the word count — read straight out of WordPress, including pages built with Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder, WPBakery and Bricks. Post bodies never leave your site.

  4. Read the difference in wp-admin

GetCited.me compares that inventory against what our crawler could fetch from outside. Where the two disagree is the finding, and it lands in the WordPress admin next to your measured citations.

What it does

Four things, and every one of them is measured rather than inferred from your markup.

Pages you publish that nothing outside can reach

A login wall, a staging gate, a bot-fight rule, a “coming soon” plugin, a firewall — any of them can leave a live page invisible to everything outside your server. An answer engine reads your site the way our crawler does, so a page we cannot reach is a page it cannot cite. No competing plugin can show this, because none of them have a crawler to disagree with.

Citations per page, counted from real answers

A column in your Posts and Pages lists: how many times AI answers cited that exact URL over the last 30 days, and by which assistant. Counted from the answers themselves, never inferred from your markup.

What changed in the last seven days

One line per question you track: where an assistant started naming your site, where it stopped, and where a competitor is now cited in your place.

When we cannot read a page, we say so

Some page builders defeat the plugin's extractor. That is our failure and not the author's, so the page is marked unreadable and carries no score at all — never a low one, and never a hint that the content is thin. Not every page gets a score, and the ones that do not say why.

What it does not do

No plugin can make Google, ChatGPT or any other assistant cite your site, and this one does not claim to. It reports what was measured, shows where the gaps are, and prepares changes you review before anything is applied. It is not an SEO plugin either: Yoast, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress and The SEO Framework keep owning titles, meta descriptions and structured data, and nothing is written to robots.txt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Not today — it is not listed there. The archive on this page is hosted by GetCited.me and is the only build we publish. Check the publisher before installing anything with a similar name: a plugin by another author uses a name close to ours and has no connection to us.
No, and no plugin can promise that. This one measures which answers already cite you, shows the pages that are unreachable from outside, and prepares changes you approve — whether an assistant then cites the page is its decision, not ours.
A structural summary of published pages: titles, heading outlines, FAQ blocks, structured-data types, first paragraphs and word counts. Post bodies, drafts, private and password-protected content, and anything about your visitors never leave. As an administrator you can read the exact payload on your own site before it is ever sent.
No, and it is built not to. Yoast, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress and The SEO Framework keep owning titles, meta descriptions and structured data. When a change is applied it is written into your SEO plugin's own fields rather than beside them, so nothing is duplicated and nothing is lost if this plugin is disabled.
Yes, as drafts only. The plugin's Articles screen lists every brief and article GetCited.me prepared for the site, and Create WordPress draft turns a finished one into a draft post — WordPress blocks, the SEO title and description in your SEO plugin, the cover image and FAQ structured data. The plugin cannot publish: you do that in WordPress, and when you schedule, publish or trash the post, GetCited.me shows the same status.
On the free plan, yes. A site whose plugin stays connected and keeps reporting gets 40 answer credits on the 1st of each month — enough to keep ten questions measured weekly on one engine after the one-time free credits run out. The programme has a monthly budget; once it is spent, sites queue for the next month instead of being refused. Paid plans already reset their credits every period, so the grant does not apply to them.

Find out what your site publishes but nobody outside can read

The comparison needs both halves: a GetCited.me project for the crawl and the measurements, and the plugin for what WordPress knows. Start with the account — the free plan is enough to pair one site.

  • The credential is bound to that one site, and revoked the moment you disconnect
  • Post bodies, drafts and visitor data never leave your server
