Google AI Mode

Google AI Mode is Google's full generative-search experience, which answers queries conversationally inside Search rather than returning a traditional results list. It extends AI answers from a summary box to the whole search interaction.

In plain terms

Where an AI Overview sits atop otherwise normal results, AI Mode makes the generative answer the primary experience, supporting follow-up questions in a conversation.

For example, a user can ask a broad question, then refine it repeatedly, with the engine composing and citing sources at each step.

It signals how much of search is shifting from links toward synthesized, cited answers.

Why it matters

As conversational search grows, presence inside these answers becomes central to being discovered on Google at all.

It reinforces that ranking and being cited in the answer are increasingly separate outcomes.

How it relates to GetCited.me

GetCited.me does not currently track Google AI Mode as a separate platform. Its Google search tracking surface is Google AI Overviews.
