In GetCited.me, share of voice is a per-answer estimate from 0 to 1 of the monitored brand's relative presence versus listed competitors. The product averages available per-answer values across completed analyses in the selected window; it is not a market-impression estimate.
In plain terms
For each analyzed answer, the analysis may estimate how much of the competitive answer space belongs to the monitored brand.
When no usable estimate is returned, GetCited.me falls back to equal mention shares: if the monitored brand and two competitors are mentioned, the fallback share is one third.
Mention rate answers "in what share of completed runs were we mentioned?" Share of voice answers "how much relative presence did we have against listed competitors in those analyzed answers?"
Why it matters
In AI answers, attention concentrates on a few named brands, so your share of voice is effectively your share of the market's attention at the moment of research.
Tracking it over time shows whether your visibility work is winning ground from competitors or merely keeping pace.
